Not a lot has happened that is interesting lately, but thought it would be an idea to put fingers to keyboard and give a brief update on shortys travels!!!!
Ski season is now almost over, or so we thought. Hired a minivan - sorry to anyone I may offend, but I AM NEVER buying a minivan or being seen dead in one again. What a PIECE OF …… yes we had fun with the hire care…. Not least in mid April getting up to Vermont and we could not get the car past Route 11 as there was freezing sleet and 4" of it! So we had to park the car in someones drive overnight and then Jon managed to rally car drive it up to the house so we could pack it with all our paintings etc… and drive it back down to NYC. It was quite an experience, and one not to repeat.
So everything is down from Vermont and in NYC and the place is a tip, so now we have 2 weekends in the city to actually do some unpacking and organizing of the flat.
Lara arrived from the Philippines today - 45 mins stuck on the plane at the gate and then another hour in customs as the immigration computers had broken down! So nice to catch up with Lara and hear all the news from SE Asia.
Work, enough said……….

So here we are mid April - how did we get here so quickly. Been gorgeous in Brooklyn as long as the wind doesn't blow. May even need to get the AC working soon
So as I started with, not a lot interesting going on at the moment…...
Air Con. That should be fun. Be ready for the dust storm. At least the clanking, banging, tapping heating pipes will be silenced?
ReplyDeletePlease don't assume that face book retarded people like me actually read face book. This is how I keep up with you... What kind of mini van? Ours was great in the snow...not quite as good as the Subaru, but did the trick. Not that I'd be in a hurry to ever get another....

ReplyDeleteGeorgia - posted a pretty gruesome photo of hippos leg. She had a growth removed, sadly we have found out that is cancerous - apparently localised cancer, so all good, but she needs to go under the knife again to get any errant cells scraped out - poor sausage. Wearing the cone of shame at the moment. Mini van was a Nissan Quest hire car with tyres that were balding at best so all in all just not a great car for 4 " of slushy sleet until Shorty put foot to the pedal and did a bit of rally car driving. Got everything back here, so now chaos again. Trying to decide where to put paintings etc... Photos of apartment, not much more from the old posts - but we are in the city next weekend, so perhaps will take some daytime photos then and edit out the mess!!!!
